Try this

Once you've worked out how much postage you need, put an airmail sticker on and put in a post box.

That site is nice but if you don't know how much whatever you're sending weighs, a normal letter to GB costs 80 cents. I have a friend in GB and I send her letters every once in awhile. I always get in line and have the post office worker put the stamp on my letters for me though just to make sure. He always puts an 80-cent stamp on it anyway. That's for a standard letter though...if you're sending a picture or something in a bigger envelope for a celebrity to sign it might be different.
