Re: Wrestling Collectors?
That's really not fair for you to say something like that man. You've probably been doing this for a few years. So you have a success from most / if not all of everyone that does TTM. It just basically means you're ahead of everyone else on here in that aspect. It's not a wasteland to many.
I've been doing it for a year in a half and their are only some I still have to get/try. I wouldn't say the sites a wasteland. Every now & then someone new pops up. I just think their aren't many newer wrestlers doing TTM.
Now their are newer fans "TTM'ers" that are on here trying to do what you were doing when you started. Get TTM's from wrestlers.
I've started sending VV to a few wrestlers that do signings, after I confirm with the place that they'll pass it along. That's how I got Luke.
No reason to say the sight isn't fun anymore once you've already reached your goal on autographs.
Heck if you feel the need to keep yourself happy research new addresses of wrestlers that haven't been mentioned for over 10 years and noone has thought about. I did that for Horace Hogan yesterday & will be sending to him soon.
Good Luck man, I just hate seeing negative energy shown on sites I visit regularly.

Re: Wrestling Collectors?
Actually it is fair for me to say that.. Myself and a handful of others did the ground work to locate the addresses that many non-contributors repeatedly pound into the ground to this very day.brochester8 wrote:That's really not fair for you to say something like that man. I don't just have a ton of Jim Ross or Ron Simmons successes. Some of my successes are quite frankly impossible to duplicate.
And then when I get an amazing success, I've got 10 PMs from people I've never conversed with asking for the address..
Re: Wrestling Collectors?
havent had much success lately wrestling wise, only wrestler i had in is buff bagwell. met him 2 times. 1st time in 1992 where wcw threw a birthday party for alot of the little kids in bluefield VA ( i was 9 years old at that time) met him where he was marcus bagwell and then again in 2002 at a indy wrestling event and i bought a nwo picture for ten bucks lol. now 11 year later i get 3 pictures in the mail. very weird. Others i gotten, from sting, jerry lawler after he came back from his heart attack last novemeber, ron simmons, teddy long , haku, joey styles molly holly (a raw trading card) hulk hogan, dixie carter and my 1st one was ricky the dragon steamboat. other than that, ive been very dried up with wrestling pictures in the mail. have not had anything in a while.

Re: Wrestling Collectors?
I find addresses all the time. For every 1 success I get, I probably have 10 to 15 that I'll never see again. Not very many of the current stars do ttm at all, but every time I find an address, I give it a shot. The US Postal Service should send me a thank you letter or something. I'm trying to keep them in business.
Got to meet Koko B. Ware at a local show the other night in Savannah. He was selling gimmicks so I bought an old WWF 8x10 of High Energy and he signed it graciously. I asked him if he would mind signing a trading card and he said no problem. I had a plastic card holder in my pocket with about 10 different cards of him in it. I was searching through them trying to find which one I wanted him to sign and he asked "Are all of those of me?" I replied yea, to which he said give me all of em. He got a kick out of looking through all of them. He even read the backs of each one. I told him multiple times that he didn't have to sign them all and he said man, you guys make my living so anything I can do to give back makes me happy. I had always heard Koko was a tough cookie when it came to dealing with fans, but on this night he was a class act. Thanks Koko.

Koko can be great. His only problem that I know of is that he doesn't like to be bothered at home nowadays by a stack of mail.Hardcore42187 wrote:I find addresses all the time. Re: Wrestling Collectors?
I got a RTS from Koko in March. I read the thread later and heard that his address was posted in a newspaper so he got bothered a ton and got angry about it. This is why he refuses and does RTS now. However, if you meet him in person he has no problem signing.

Re: Wrestling Collectors?
Hey guys - was just wondering if I could get some feedback from y'all, seeing as this seems to be the place to come for Wrestling info.
I have, in my possession, signed 10x8's of The Undertaker, Kane, Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes - all which were brought from a reputable dealer who holds private signings with wrestlers. I also have a signed Jim Ross photo which I acquired through his agent and a signed John Cena index card which I got myself in person. I also have signed Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler photos which I purchased from wwe.com.
Just wondering how much this lot might be worth? And then where I should try if I was looking to sell them? I'm a little tight for money at the moment so i'm considering passing them on to somebody else.
Any info would be great. Please feel free to PM me. Many thanks.
Simon.

Re: Wrestling Collectors?
Something new coming soon for Nikolai Volkoff and Jimmy Valiant to sign, lol
Attachments won't load for me but I have a pic on my FB. I have written a book of fiction called "Only The Beginning" about a girl's life during high school. Nikolai and Jimmy are "good, close, personal, long time friends" of mine to paraphrase the legendary Mean Gene. They have lent their names to a "forward" for the book where they discuss their response to the book, me as their friend and how they feel they relate best to the book's message of being a good person, doing the right thing and helping other people.
I received a "proof" copy to edit and will be going through a self publishing phase next week. Copies will be available online and hope to sell a few at wrestling conventions!
