I Do Not scan envelopes

On October 20th, I sent a LOR, 8x10 photo and SASE to baseball Hall of Famer and Chicago Cub great Ernie Banks. I received my SASE on November 12th with my photo signed. I had asked for him to include HOF but he didn’t and that is completely fine by me. And before you start saying is not him signing the TTM's that he gets, I just put it side by side to a photo I had signed earlier this year by him at a show and its exact. So if you send to him, you are getting a legit autograph. I used the address in the database.

No. In my LOR, I said that if there is a fee, or if he would like a donation made in his name to let me know and I would be willing to do it, and all I received back was the photo, so I take that as a no from him, lol. I had also seen someone sent him a ball a month or 2 back without any money and got the ball back signed. I know a few years ago, he wouldn't sign TTM to save his life. Glad to see as he gets older that he realizes his fans are still here and still cheer for him and now he is playing nice and answering our request, LOL.

Ernie's wife handled his mail and wouldn't let him sign for free. Ernie is one of the nicest ballplayers anyone can ever come across-past, present, or future. He truly cares about and appreciates his fans, and frankly, I don't appreciate anyone insinuating otherwise.

I think he thought you were implying that it was Bank's choice not to sign, when it was indeed his wife refusing the mail. I have a feeling that if it were up to Ernie, he would sit and sign an autograph for everyone in Chicago...

This is a little harsh!!! The man signs autographs IN PERSON all the time. I've seen him at Wrigley Field many times and he has NEVER turned down an autograph request.

I'm tired of everyone that tries to get autos thru the mail thinking they're ENTITLED. You're not entitled to anything.

As for why people are directing things your way, it's because you come across as a jerk for your playing nice comment.

Rupy... First off, you need anger management dude..... I am not sure if you noticed the LOL at the end, it was all in fun... as is this website. Guess you take this website as serious as the bible. I am a huge fan of Ernie Banks and respect what he has done for the game. Not sure how much baseball knowledge you actually know, but Mr. Banks has taken over as the face of the Negro league from the late Buck O'Neil. I have met Ernie 3 times at Wrigley and have also paid for autographs from Mr. Banks, and he is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. So just relax and enjoy the hobby and challenge of autograph collecting.

And as for your line about us not being "entitled" to get autographs.. why is that? Who pays for the tickets to the games? Who pays for the hats, shirts and everything else of a team? Who spends their hard earned money just to go watch a "game?" In a way, players do owe us something as if it wasn’t for us they would not have the life styles that they have now days. Atleast the former players up to the 90's appreciate their fans... as does Ernie Banks. Thats why he is PLAYING NICE, LOL, HAHA, JK, LMAO... Just wanted to make sure you seen that was a joke. Wow, all I did was ask a simple question. I have only had the experience of seeing Mr. Banks during hall of fame weekend. He has always been nice and gracious. However, I have not been lucky enough to have him sign for me. I do not feel that he owes me anything. The comments that were written here do clear up why he has not been as generous as he has been in the past. My friend has told me about the good old days of collecting autographs in Cooperstown and how Mr. Banks was one of the most fan friendly hall of famer. Thank all of you for your comments that you posted.
