I just tell them how much I admire their accomplishments and things like that. Or if they played for say the Dodgers, I just say I am a huge Dodgers fan. It has worked so far. Also, I can tell you that I have gotten Duke Snider and I included a $10 check. Stan Musial will not sign your item but will send back a signed postcard type item. Also, it is Thomson and not Thompson and he will sign just about anything for free. Good luck!

Re: what do you write in a letter to old baseball players
thanks for the help , so your saying i have a shot with the stan the man and the man that hit the shot heard round the world then ah. well thats fine, as he was a amazing baseball player, and thats fine about stan the man i dont mind that ,all i was going to send him was a index card and a picture of him(printed out), as long i get a auto i dont mind so ya ill just ask for a signed item and not send one, while for bobby ill send a picture of the famous home run. but its too bad about duke now ten dollars is nothing for a hall of famer but still, ill see if ill send him or not. again thanks so much for the help.
