I need help getting started w/ Charity Auction!!!!

Hey people, I'm kind a new new at all this "charity auction" type things. i've been writing to celebs just for myself for a couple years now, and I believe in helping charities whenever possible, so I've decided to start writing to celebs for a local charity that help kids threatened by gangs. Any recomendation on who give good charity auction autos and how to write to the celebs????
