I look at sent a recieve dates and clearly they are success's from this forum. Everyday there are new ones from this forum.Stefan is a good collector, but because he gets feedback from random people, many of which are probably new collectors, most of them can't tell a PP from an AP from a sec from an authentic and many think that anything they get is clearly real, so yeah, I wouldn't listen to feedback there.
I've been collecting for long enough to tell the difference, let alone you can say I studied by 'heart' many of the bigger actors who do and don't sign
authenticity question about these stars?

As I said before, if you choose to believe it or not it's up to you. I know that personally I'm too proud of my own collection to put a fake in it and when I get an autograph TTM the first thing I'll think is 'how can I prove it's real' rather than 'I hope no one proves it's fake'
it's nice to see that there are other serious collectors out there who care as much as I do about enlighting new collectors regarding the issue of "authenticity".
When I received my first Joe Pesci secretarials 13 years ago I first thought they were authentic too since I hadn't studied Mr. Pesci's signature before due to the fact that I was still kind of new to collecting autographs.
But it's all about studying and learning and within the past 15 years I gained a lo of experience in the field of "authenticity".
However, new/young collectors still don't like to hear that what they get back is a PP/AP/Stamp/Secretarial since they believe in all stars to sign and simply don't have the experience and the knowledge to tell a a PP from an AP from a sec from an authentic signature. It might take them some time, maybe even some years to realise, but if they start collecting on a serious level they will soon find out the differences.
Best,
Stephan

Hmm...this is new. I thought http://www.stefansautographs.com was a reliable site! Oh well, we all have our opinions. I've tried a few of his addresses and have had AUTHENTIC successes in the past, so I'm willing to go with him. But everything's very subjective in this hobby...depends on which side you want to go.
Don't get me wrong people, stefansautographs.ch is a good site, especially seeing as it's free.
But I wouldn't trust the feedback there too much. If it was only up to Stefan to give the feedback then I trust it'd have been mostly if not all corrent. But seeing as anyone can send their feedback then it ruins it a bit. Still, it's a good site.
The only site I know which I MOSTLY trust regarding feedback is a pay-site which I recently subscribed for, not sure why I didn't do it before.

you seem to be talking about StarArchive.
This site is brilliant and since it turned from a free-site to a pay-site it got even better in my personal opinion. When I used to send out TTM request back until about 2000/2001 this site was the number 1 when you were looking for addresses. Since I'm now mostly collecting in person and via venue I don't use it that much anymore but it's still a great website and definately worth the yearly fees.
Best,
Stephan

I knew somebody would misunderstand what I wrote and looking at it I can see why.Mailman, RE: Pacino, when I wrote absolutely not secretarial. It was meant as absolutely dont send to him because it's secretarial. I should have phrased it better. LOLJoey your absolutely right when you stated 'how can I prove it's real' rather than 'I hope no one proves it's fake' Any serious collector should treat all TTM Successes as anything but real and research it till your head explodes. lol I've had some signatures over the years where It would take me 6 months to a year, sometimes longer before I was satisfied of it being authentic or not and during that time they would sit in an envelope and wouldn't be added to my collection. RSVP, My long lost twin. lol I agree, It's beyond me why some think stefans is so great I actually went off in one of my posts regarding that site and I think I actually got a neg. imagine that. lol and your right stararchive has gotten ALOT better since it became a paid site and definately worth the yearly fee.

the same actually happened to me recently too, when a newbie (ChemicalsXreacT - just posted his first success ever) gave me a Negative by posting this message: "You are so rude and crushing peoples hope, I hope nobody listens to your opinions!".
I suppose the huge problem on this board between members is the age difference. Some members are 12/13/14/15 young and have no experience so far and some of us (like myself) are 25-30+ years old and have been collecting for 10+ years.
I can only offer my help and experience but if a newbie prefers to believe secretarials to be authentic I'm helpless.
Best,
Stephan
