british tv would be miles better if the tv companies forgot about reality tv and makeover shows and just tried to make something original...

I totally agree with you on that one Mighty_ModdersMighty_Modders wrote:british tv would be miles better if the tv companies forgot about reality tv and makeover shows and just tried to make something original...
Reality TV really gets on my nerves too. But I guess it all goes in cycles really, as a few years ago it was all DIY-type shows, and food shows. After all, I suppose somebody must be watching them
Cheers
Ian
All the good shows are old shows thogh. I can't think of anything that's on right now which is brilliant - except Jimmy's Farm, which is comedy genius but not really a sitcom
Most recent successes:
In Person - Ramin Karimloo
Through the Mail - Geoffrey Rush (05/09/2011 English dating!)

I love Blackadder, the last episode is a classic. I also hope 'Look Around You' comes back for another series, that was just hilarious!
Fawlty Towers was really funny, especially that bit where he attacks the car with the branch
That's about it really

it actually depends on the comedian. What I like is so-called sophisticated comedy by cabaret artist who work up politics, immigration problems, etc.
I'm friend with Hennes Bender, a very fine comedian who's won the Cologne Comedy Cup in 2001 and the German Comedy Award in 2004. You can visit his website here: http://www.hennesbender.de
I do also like Kurt Krömer (http://www.kurtkroemer.de), Bülent Ceylan (http://www.buelent-ceylan.de), Michael Mittermeier (http://www.mittermeier.de), Mario Barth (http://www.mario-barth.de), Dr. Stratmann (http://www.doktor-stratmann.de) and Oliver Pocher (http://www.oliverpocher.de) very much as well as the tv show "Mitternachtsspitzen" (http://www.wdr.de/comedy/mitternachtsspitzen).
What comedians do you like to see live on stage?
Best,
Stephan
