Found a very, very fruitful spot in town and ended up with 103 autographs.
Started off with Aksana. Never met her, but man, she is pretty in-person. She signed four pictures for me and three for my wife.
Next up was former World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan. He signed one photo for me, but asked to personalized it. It reads “To Kenneth, Yes!!!†Pretty cool inscription if you asked me. My wife also got him to sign one Bryan Danielson photo, which he didn’t ask to personalize.
After D-Bryan, a bunch of WWE stars rolled in. I mean a whole lot. All totaled, it was like 50 that showed at the spot. Thus, it is still sort of a blur for me.
I do recall that Alberto Del Rio was one of those that I thought would be hit or miss. Turns out, he signed for everyone. My wife got him on two pics and I got him on one.
Del Rio wouldn’t sign the Dos Caras picture I had. Said he couldn’t, but Ezekiel Jackson saw it and was ribbing him about it, asking, “Who’s this guy, Berto?â€
I also remember seeing Kane and getting him on three photos. My wife got him to sign the Diesel promo and the Isaac Yankem one. He asked her jokingly, “Now, why do you have to pull these out on me,†However, he gave no problems with signing them.
Sin Cara floated through and signed one per as we pretty much had him corralled.
In addition, I located the lovely AJ, whom I’ve been wanting to meet for sometime. She was very cool. She even remarked about some of my photos. She signed four for me and four for my wife. I eventually gave away one photo she signed to a fellow collector that showed up late and missed her, but wanted her badly.
I also got Brodus Clay on three photos and Cameron on two. That coupled with my earlier Naomi success from January gives me their little trio.
Out of the side of my head, I caught Dolph Ziggler and I got him to sign two promos for me. It was chaos at that time, so I’m glad I got him.
Meanwhile, my wife and I split up and went after talents on our own with no plan as the swarm continued.
During this time, I got The Usos (one promo), Titus O’Neil (one solo and one tag team one), Darren Young (one tag team photo), Antonio Cesaro (two photos), Rosa Mendes (two photos, three total with one from my wife), Ryback (two photos), Booker T (two photos, three total with one from my wife), Billy Kidman (two photos) and Tyson Kidd (one photo).
Also, I got Maxine to sign two photos for me. She was very cool. I think I might have been her last autographs as a WWE employee as she quit the company at the end of this tour.
Getting Sheamus was like pulling teeth as he insisted I had already gotten him, which I hadn’t. I was busy with Brodus Clay when he was signing for others.
Eventually, he gave in and signed and personalized one photo for me. My wife also got him on one photo.
Finally, I located Damien Sandow and he signed one picture for me.
While I was chasing numerous WWE stars, my wife went after whoever she saw. She ended up getting The Great Khali (two photos), Natalya (two photos), Hornswoggle (three photos), Heath Slater (two photos), Drew McIntyre (one photo), Santino Marella (two photos) and Husky Harris (one photo as Brad Wyatt).
Drew was ribbing Zeke about the photo because he was choking him in it. Drew even wrote “like the pic†on the photo.
A second wave came through later.
During that wave, I got William Regal on two photos, one completed my WCW promo with Sir William. Regal signed it William Regal, but oh well.
Also got Cody Rhodes on two photos apiece. Cody has been my white whale of WWE this year. Had three opportunities to get him and missed him at every one until this one.
In addition, I also found Road Dogg and he signed six photos for me. He was signing any and everything everyone had and in no hurry to move on.
IRS also inked two photos for me, whiel Raquel Diaz signed one as did referee Mike Chioda.
Lord Tensai signed one photo for both me and my wife.
Finally, David Otunga signed a couple pics for me and wanted one I had. So, I gave it to him. He then tweeted about the photo. How cool is that. Otunga’s a top notch guy.
To round out the trip, I’ll tell you all that I also got Primo on four photos, Michael Hayes on two and Michael Cole on a couple.
All in all, a great outing. Photos to follow.
As usual, I didn’t do much in the way of photo ops although I did have one taken. That was with Cody Rhodes just to prove to some other collector friends that I actually finally was able to snag him.
I missed getting quite a few talents as there were only two of us and not much we could do when they started pouring in.
One funny story, though, is that Dean Malenko signed a paper for a local merchant and wrote “Marc Mero.†Apparently, those two have heat and that was Malenko being Malenko.
The only talents to flat out refuse were Hunico (said he was in a hurry) and Arn Anderson (was being Arn).
Arn seemed extremely perturbed about something. My guess was it was the Sid Vicious being brought back, but that’s just me speculating.
If anyone wants to see an auto not posted, let me know.
