Hey everyone
As I'm sure you have noticed, there has been a drastic increase in the amount of spam postings recently.
I for one am getting fed up with it. It needs to stop.
If anyone has any ideas, feel free to post them.
My idea:
Would it be possible to have admin/moderator approval enabled? This would be like where an admin or moderator would have to look at a new member's first post, and then decide to let them stay or to delete their account.
I know this would be more work, but in the end it would make the forums a better place.

It would not stop these bots

Yep I look forward to that update Another forum I'm a member of will upgrade to that one soon aswell. Let's hope the spam bots disappear or decrease then.
Also, maybe the spam bots find this place because of ads and things like that? I don't know, but this other forum I'm a member of only get about 3-5 spam topics per month.

I receive over 100 spam messages per day, they are all automatically redirected to the spam folder.

I really think an 'enter code' would work. Many places have them to avoid spammersrpbluesman wrote:I think that something should be done to stop the spamming..perhaps an "enter a code" thingy to stop bots from joining. As for othr members posting spam messages, we just have to watch out for them, as I don;t know how much we could really keep an eye on a ton of new members
