Pete Quaife of the Kinks, age 66.

This hit me particularly hard. I'm a HUGE Kinks fan and had an email relationship with Pete for a number of years. He was a fairly reluctant musician who was more interested in being an artist. I have a great cartoon sketch that he drew for me a few years ago.

I heard reports that Edith Shain has passed away a couple days ago. She was known for being the Nurse that was kissed by the Sailor on the LIFE magazine cover.

Met him and person and was a very friendly gentleman. Appeared most recently in the UK stage version of The Shawshank Redemption in the West End, and has appeared in many tv shows from Bad Girls and Eastenders to Hogfather and most recently Benidorm.
