No real new news, however through research on my own, I have found out two very, very valuable items of interest. First of all, cold medicines do affect these tests, which no one warned me of, and which I had been taking the entire week up to the morning of the test. Also, the biggest symptom of hyperthyroidism is a racing heartbeat...up to 200 beats per minute. I've been checking mine and it's stayed the same at it's 90 beats per minute. So I still have no symptoms and it's VERY likely that the test was thrown by the cold medicine.
In other research I've found that since my levels are so slightly off and I have no symptoms, that I would be considered "subclinical hyperthyroidism" if in fact I do have it. The course is just monitoring and possibly medicine for 12-18 months during which 80% of everyone will have permanent remission for the rest of their lives. So I worry much, much less about this and I'm still very anxious to find out for sure what's going on, which may very well be impossible since my levels are thrown off by pregnancy as well

Well, here's the latest news:
I know nothing more about the hyperthyroidism. I got re-tested last Thursday and I won't know the results until at least Tues. or Wed.
We had a level II ultrasound on Thursday as well, which revealed that the baby is a girl
! The strange news is that she had a Choroid Plexus cyst (a cyst on the brain). Basically they usually go away and even if they don't, they're harmless. But they do have a very weak link to being a soft marker for T18 (Edwards' disease), which is a very serious one in which the babies don't usually live to their 1st birthday. Basically my odds of having an Edwards' disease baby have gone from 1 in 3,000 (every woman's odds) to 1 in 300 (still rather small). So in 4 weeks I'll have a level 3 (3D) ultrasound to check for other markers. If they find any more we'll more than likely be opting for an amnio, which carries it's own risks and worries. So I would kindly ask that everyone still keep us in your thoughts and prayers for a healthy baby.
