Typed letters. I think they look better and are more legible. I haven't written a letter since the late 90s and continue to get success after success. IMHO. :D

Handwritten for me. I think if you type, some celebs might think that you have a template, and then just change the celeb's name and movies' names that he/she was in.

Mine, typewritten. No choice, my hand writing is terrible! I did tried handwritten once, up to now, still no reply... Maybe the celebrity got tired of figuring out what I'm trying to say!

handwritten. it's more personal. typed makes it look like you're writing same thing to lots of people and the celeb might not think you're genuine.

I handwrite mine and then I photocopy them and put them in a folder incase I don't get anything back and want to try again so I can then rewrite the letter :)

I have handwritten every letter of mine except 2, which I sent to politicians and they were about a cause important to me. (I've got a reply from one of them.)
Personally I think handwritten is much more personal and it requires more effort, which is appreciated.
And it shouldn't really look professional. Neat but not professional.
I am not doing this hobby to sell my collection imho.
