UK IRC Price Hike!!!
I went to the post office to stock up on some International Reply Coupons. The previous ones cost 60p each, but the new ones have gone up to 95p each, and get this... apparently they're not worth any more in other countries. The Royal Mail are just out to get us! I'm starting using less IRCs when I send out requests (I used to send 3, but I'll just be sending 2 from now on before the cost of sending requests gets out of control!).

Hi keith191283
IRC's are worth the value of a basic overseas letter each. Anything over the cost of a standard letter will require more than one IRC
The Royal Mail are one of my biggest bugbears, but the postage prices overseas are rising steadily. The UK's IRC are still amongst the cheapest in the World
Just wait for the "Postage In Proportion" system which is due to start in the UK from 21 August, and you'll see what postage increases really mean!!!!

Hi Ian,
I was going to do this myself, but with me going away tomorrow I didn't have the time, would it be possible to create a sticky in the 'Collecting Help' forum with info the changes to the UK post?
Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul,
Have a great holiday
I was going to add the info to the Postage Costs thread in the Collecting Help forum in the next week or so. ( http://www.fanmail.biz/mboard/viewtopic.php?p=49124 )
Prices for international post will not change, so the only amendments will be for UK citizens writing to UK addresses
I will get it added soon though

I do so hate the royal mail...posted two letters to the USA yesterday, one cost 75p. the other had ONE extra bit of paper in it, not even A5 and cost £1.12 - rip off. i got my ircs before i went on holiday so i wouldnt have to pay that much for them...its like theyre trying to shut down their own company. this new pricing in proportion thing is a load of rubbish too, how long have they been delivering letters for and the size never seems to have been a problem...grr.
should be some kind of 'i hate royal mail' club...methinks membership would be quite high
rant over.

Quite right Mighty_Modders.
One time I sent just one letter (one A4 folded paper init) to the USA and because they thought, heres a kid lets get more money and pull the wool over his eyes, they wanted 72p
Another time, I sent the same type of letter and I went to a different woman and it was 50p
Make sense of that. Royal Mail suck

I Bought Some IRC's From My Local Post Office Yesterday & Apparently They Are Still 60p, Which Is Starnge, However They are Not The Same As The Old Ones, Maybe The Price Will Increase In The Next Week Or So, Although I Really Hope Not!
I Sent A Letter, SAE, IRC & 1 8x10 Photo To The USA Yesterday & It Cost Me, £2.18, Wotta Rip Off!!

EDIT: I Just Realised That Since Theres This New 'Size As Well As Weight' Proportion Thing, & If You Want To Send An A4 Envelope You Have To Get One Of Them 'Special' Large Stamps That Now Cost 44p, That My SASE's That I've Sent Before This Size Thing Came In Aren't Going To Get Back To Me, Because They're Only Normal 1st Class Stamps =[ Hopefully, The Celbrities Will Realise This & Add Some More Postage On, Because If Not I Won't Recieve Any Of my Uk Autographs Back
