Hello everyone One of my friends had asked if it was common for people to send a thank you note to those who have replied back? Not including a SAE with intent of getting anything back, just a quick 'thank you' to express appreciation that they sent the photos back autographed and such? I wasn't too sure how to answer her, I didn't know. Artists receive a lot of letters, most probably for autograph requests along with the fan letter, so I wonder if a thank you note would maybe be irritating to them, just because they might be really busy? What do you guys think?

I usually do if the person goes above and beyond and does something special for me. Like I have had a few send me shirts and I even had one send me candy. So in those cases yes. But I don't have the money to send a letter to every person I write to thank them. So instead for everyone else if they have a email section on their website or comment section I will thank them there.

Im the same I occasionally do if the person sent me something extra or unexpected I will send a thank you card but its too much to send one to everyone not to mention I do a lot of vv and by the time I get my photos back filming is done and the address is no longer good.

I don't send Thank You notes, but I always say "Please and Thank You " in the letters I send out with my requests

Via letter; only if they have gone above and beyond.

If they are contactable via electronic means then I usually will send a thank you. Let's them know signing is appreciated and encourages them to continue
