What Do You Do With Autographs?

Unread post by taylorr »

I was wondering what everyone does with their autographs. Some people have thousands, I have no idea what I'd do with that many! For mine, I put pictures on my wall, index cards in a photo album, and preprints in a binder. Here's what my wall looks like (its under construction);

So what does everyone else do? (Sorry if there is already a post like this)

I have four 3-ring binders full of all my pictures. Larger items (for example, posters or photos matted with signatures) I have hanging on my wall (or rolled up, as I wait until I can afford frames...it's killing me that I haven't been able to get a frame for my Stan Lee-signed Spider-Man poster).
2014 Successes:
Tom Baker, Patrick Stewart (vv), Peter Cullen, Robin Atkin Downes, Jenna-Louise Coleman, Trace Beaulieu, George Lowe, Joe Dante, Willem Dafoe, Jeffrey Brown, Maurice LaMarche, Alan Oppenheimer, Penn & Teller (last success 10/14/14)

That would drive me crazy to have them all on the wall together like that...I hang some up but i like them spread apart and no more than a few together or it looks to busy,plus the ones i frame i have to matt or put them is sleeves inside the frames to make sure the autograph doesnt touch the glass because that can ruin them after time. I keep 90% of my autographs in prtective sleeves in binders,I have 10 binders which i put in one big plastic tote for even more protection from potential water damage or even dust.

Most of my collection is in binders, those binders are in a vault. I do have about 40 8x10 frames that hang in my 'movie' room, and I interchange the autographs in those frames a few times a year or whenever I feel like it. I also have a few signed odd sized items/collectibles/memorabilia that hang in that room also.

nice, however why dont both of you MATTE YOUR PHOTOS before framing them? that will have your photos last longer and the color wont fade away..

I also have mine in plastic slips in three-ring binders. At the moment, I have one matted and framed on my wall (Ringo Starr). If I ever get Paul McCartney, he will also get a spot of honor on my wall :D

I am currently living with people, but once I move out on my own I hope to have a TV/entertainment room, and I will probably matte and frame my LOST, Harry Potter, and Doctor Who autos and hang them up.
Favorite autographs received: ALAN RICKMAN!!, Henry Ian Cusick (received IP!), John Saul, J.K. Rowling, R.L. Stine, Smokey Robinson, Emma Thompson, Alex Trebek, Colin Firth, David Tennant, John Simm and loads more! I love them all :D

Most wanted: Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Morrissey, Naveen Andrews, Sean Connery
