Does anyone know what the general cost is to send 1 or 2 8X10 photos by standard USPS mail in a standard envelope? I'm just wondering how much postage to place on a SASE. Thanks!!

USPS rates are based on weight and media size. try usps.com for rate calculator after you have weighed the return envelope with item you want returned.

Or you could do what I do...
Go to the post office and weigh the SASE with the items to be returned on the scale they provide (using the zip code from where it's being sent from) and then purchase any additional stamps I might need, if necessary. Then I check the whole package to make sure I've got enough stamps on that. I usually go in the morning when there's no big crowd there yet, so I breeze right through. When I can't get there early enough to beat the crowd and I need more postage, I'll just throw another Forever stamp on it.

Great ideas. I just thought someone may have known what the cost usually is for a couple of pics..but, I guess it varies. I'll try a few and see if I can get an idea of the postage and work from there. Thanks everyone.

A 10x13 envelope is 88 cents empty. Each additional ounce is 17 cents. If it is going to a zone that has additional costs (For me I live in PA so Cali is additional) you have to add that too.
I've never had a problem with a 9x12, cardboard, 2 8x10s = 1.32$ or three stamps.

I generally put 0.88 in stamps on my 9X12 envelopes. That is the basic cost for one 8X10 photo. As chriscollector said, each additional ounce is .17 so to be on the safe side, you could put 1.05 on the SASE.
