Do you keep copies of your letter?

Do you keep copies of the letters you send to celebrities?

I never have but sometimes when I get a really great response, I wish I could remember exactly what I've written

I don't save the letter since I usually keep the letters short and too the point. Since I usually write to casts of tv shows and movies. I keep a sheet with a checklist of all of the people I wrote to. I also write the address used and the date I mailed it. When I get a reply. I check off the name and mark the received date.

Well, I type all my letters so they are always saved on my computer.

Because I have to translate my letters from German to English I always write them on my computer. This way it is much more convenient to correct grammar or spelling mistakes afterwards. In addition I very often add some lines (or delete some) after I've read it several times.

Once I am satisfied I handwrite the final letter. So the original is still saved and archieved on my computer {thumb2}

I was tempted to keep a copy of all my letters until i found a copy of one i sent to Frank Oz six months after i wrote it, when i wrote it at the time i got so over excited i think i rambled a bit too much and it was really cringe worthy

so i just delete them off my computer-i like to start fresh with each letter anyway!!!

Nope. I just don't like to see/hear what I'm writing, really (which is something I'm working on). Usually, after I put that letter in the envelope, BYE BYE!

I keep them short and to the point, adding little "extras" partly so it doesn't sound generic and possibly make the celebrities I'm writing mass identical letters to sell autographs..

I also do this, but I have to find a better notebook or start using my computer. At the moment its a bit of a sloppy system. ;)

I have many "form letters" saved on the computer for different catagories. I have them for baseball, football, former Phillies and Eagles, film actors, ect. This saves me time than having to start from scratch every time.

Yes, I do keep all my letters. I write many drafts before I write my final letter, and I keep the last draft. Sometimes it is cringe making re-reading them, but also if I wait a long, long time and I don't get a reply, I can re-send my original letter (if it is still appropriate) so I don't waste anymore time writing to the person, if the chance of a response is even more slim.

I never keep copies. Twice the letter's been returned to me with their signature, but that was my fault for not including index cards.
