Hi guys.
I'm sending requests from the UK to the USA, and was just wondering If celebrities preferred SASE's rather than US Dollars / Currency been sent to them so they can pay for the postage. Been from the UK I don't have many US stamps, so I was going to send $3 in with my letter.
With your previous Autograph collecting experience, which do you think celebrities prefer, or doesn't it matter?

If they get Stamps they can answer directly. It`s too much effort for the stars to sell some stamps. They have`nt the time for. You can sell some stamps in the internet surely!

Currency is fine, and many people have successes with it, but I think stamps are better, easier all round.
If you'd like to buy some then I can recommend Bri0626 in the Autograph Exchange/Sale section of the forum

I use the Dollar method for almost all my successes as im from the UK too
I dont notice a time difference from sending dollars to stamps as im sure celebs agents have stamps laying around or the celeb could send a PA to Buy a sheet of stamps
Ive had lots of celebs actually pay extra postage for my autogrraph to come to me which is super nice of them.
when writing my LOR i always say i have included some dollars to cover postage as i am from the UK i hope this is enough.
My favorite is Melissa Joan Hart who states on her website to include at least $2 worth of postage and a 8X10 SASE which i didnt on both counts and she still send me an Autograph!

ohh thanks. I've had US International Stamps before which have worked, I've just ran out of them now, so I've been putting $3 in with each request, and explaining why in the letter

I am from the UK but I always send a SASE when writing to the USA
I buy american stamps on ebay, when I began collecting I did the dollar method though, its not great for via venue however

I haven't sent to any via venue in america yet
I use the $1.05 stamps on my baseball / hockey / american football requests because the letters don't weigh much.
But I'm sending $$ with my 5x7 requests as the packages are heavier
