Help with US stamps.
On Thursday I plan on sending a request to Larry David and for the first time I will be using a SASE with US stamps on it and I was wondering if anyone on here could tell me how many I would need.
These are the stamps I have - https://shop.usps.com/webapp/wcs/stores ... c=10001891
I was told by my aunt, who gave me them, that I would only need to put one on an 8x10 envelope and that would be enough but I just wanted to make sure so I dont ruin a request due to insuffcient postage.
The return letter will be sent from the US to England.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Help with US stamps.
Actually you'll need two of those US stamps on the SASE to make it back to the UK.
And that will do it!
Best of luck!

Thanks for the help Ryan
.
So two will cover the postage if I am sending two 8x10s and a piece of card for protection?

Re: Help with US stamps.
Those stamps are great for international mail. However, only one on a 8X10 will not work.
You will need at least 1.24 in stamps on a 8X10--which is 2 of those 0.98 stamps.

EDIT: Man you guys post fast!
If you add cardboard, you will need at last 2.08 in stamps.

Re: Help with US stamps.
It's really better to get an accurate weight of it all if possible, the usual combination of a manila envelope and a 8x10 photo seems to right on the border of over or under 1oz, and adding a piece of cardboard makes it even harder to guess.
Re: Help with US stamps.
I just weighed the envelope that would be sent back (envelope, 2 8x10s, and some card) and it weighed about 2.25oz. Anyone know how much that would cost in postage back to England?

Re: Help with US stamps.
$2.92
If you know the weight, you can always get the price from this chart
http://www.usps.com/prices/first-class- ... prices.htm
England falls under "Country Group 5"

Re: Help with US stamps.
Yes, three stamps will be fine at the current rate. But keep in mind that in January the postage rates in the US are scheduled to increase. At that point it will cost $3.06 to send from the US to the UK. Three .98 cent stamps will actually be just a little short in that case. So I would either consider buying some "make-up" stamps to be sure, or add one more .98 cent stamp if you don't feel like purchasing and waiting for more stamps to arrive.
Sorry if I made it more complicated, but I always like to be safe than sorry. This way if the celeb takes their time to return your item to you, you don't have to worry about the potential postage increase.
