Re-use STAMPS?
I was wondering if I could re-use stamps? They have no marks or anything on them.
Re: Re-use STAMPS?
I don't believe that is legal, and if you do some how ever get caught it is a federal crime.. People do it all the time I'm sure though

Waiting for many former and current US Politicians and Historical Figures:

Re: Re-use STAMPS?
Oh, shoot. Guess I'm in trouble then. I always re-use unfranked stamps. If the Post Office fails to cancel them, that's their fault not mine. If I had to pay for US stamps, and the same stamps come back to me un-franked, am I going to waste them?

Playbills: A Little Night Music (Angela Lansbury), Wicked, A Steady Rain (Daniel Craig & Hugh Jackman), The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, The Phantom of the Opera, Blithe Spirit (Angela Lansbury)
Most Wanted: Jason Isaacs, Andy Serkis, Peter Jackson, Johnny Depp
Personalized: 54
Most prized: Cate Blanchett, Tony Shalhoub, Mary Costa, Daniel Craig, Brad Bird, Patti LuPone, Richard Taylor, Angela Lansbury, Aaron Eckhart, John Rhys-Davis, Eli Wallach, David Wenham, Geoffrey Rush, Ian McKellen

Technically, if they came backed and were used, but not canceled- then you got your money's worth; so it's not like they were just wasted. People reuse stamps all of the time- to the point where I've heard of people chemically washing canceled stamps just to save the 50c (a bit excessive). It's mostly a matter of morals; It'd be difficult to tell if someone reused a non canceled stamp short of some inks that are UV based and show up under certain light. So while it's illegal and shouldn't be done... will you get in trouble? probably not... just like not wearing a seatbelt... but that shouldn't change anything.Johnny's Fan wrote:Oh, shoot. I strongly recommend against reusing at all because it's illegal, and the USPS is already losing over a $1 Billion annually. They are considering not delivering on Saturdays anymore and raising postage prices AGAIN [which would even affect people outside of the country because of return postage].
