I agree with you entirely Ryan. Even though almost 100% of my collection are email success', I've put the effort in to finding the celebrity's email address etc and sometimes it has taken days to find an email address, but when you receive a great success it makes everything worth it. I don't post my success' any more because as soon as you mention it was an email success you get bombarded with people hunting for a free autograph! I've had some quite offensive emails once I've told some people that they should do their own research if they like the celebrity enough. Hopefully, people'll soon get the message and leave! ;-)

I totally agree, I am so tired of people just wanting free autographs and free email addresses too, they can't even do their own research.I don't even like people always looking for via venue addresses from others without even attempting to find any themselves. Nothing wrong with helping out another real fan and i can usually tell who seems sincere but not always. This hobby is getting harder by the year with all the people trying to get autographs for financial reasons and not for collecting reasons. I have got some email successes but i always found them myself and to be honest i always feel kinda bad about getting the free ones because i think this hobby should be about writing the letters and getting autographs to keep and not "just because" or to make money!

I agree with you. The NCIS email has totally gotten spammed, and I think they do not pass on the emails now. This stinks as Ive been trying to get Cote and Michael for a long time now. I have sent numerous ttm requests and sent emails. This stinks because NCIS is my favorite show and I was so close to having the entire cast. Email addresses should not be shared because then people who are just wanting a free autograph is ruining the chances for the true fans out there.
Autographs Received: Nathan Fillion, Alexander Skarsgard, Mark Harmon, Pauley Perrette, Sean Murray, Michael Weatherly, Sasha Alexander, Cote de Pablo, David McCallum, Stana Katic, Cate Blanchett, Bradley Cooper, Alex O'Loughlin, Scott Caan, Grace Park, Daniel Dae Kim, Deborah Ann Woll, Jennifer Morrison, Mark Wahlberg, Jim Belushi, Jane Seymour, Joe Lando (IP), Betty White, Leah Remini, Seth Macfarlane (PP), Melissa Joan Hart, Jewel Staite, Aaron Eckhart, Summer Glau, Angie Harmon, Dakota Fanning, Robin Williams, Emma Watson (PP), Emily Deschanel (PP), Daniel Radcliffe, Amanda Seyfried, Chipper Jones, Morena Baccarin, Gordon Ramsey (AP), John Travolta, & Kristin Bauer

Thanks for all agreeing with me guys!! I'm hoping with our combined efforts we can get this issue under control. {up} I've lost out on several successes due to people spamming emails and even VV addresses just because the celeb was sending out signed photos and they wanted them to 'boost' their collection. :(

I agree, when I posted a taylor swift success through email i got about 50 pm's asking for the email after i had stated i wasnt giving it out. I only try emails as a last resort as I love writing letters and I had already tried Taylor 17 times before I sent the email and I always offer to send a SASE and picture to cover the costs. I don't see the point in collecting autographs of people I am not a fan of or have any interest in because they don't feel special to me also it is taking the chance of a reply away from a true fan.
Collections:
Pretty Little Liars, Make it or Break it, Hunger Games, Twilight, The Secret Life of an American Teenager, The Fosters, Modern Family, New Girl, Lying Game, Glee, Victorious, Disney , Nickelodeon, Hollywood, Singers, Others

I agree. I don't get why people just get an autograph just to get it, or just to boost their collection. It makes no sense. There was 1 person like that here but he's not posting here anymore.
I mainly collect voice actor and Disney related autographs-Any questions with Disney successes/addresses? Feel free to PM me!

There has always been concern about posting e-mails on the forum and I am glad people are trying to get it under control.

But my personal policy is to NOT even post the success! In discussions or things like that I will say that I have "so and so's" autograph but not say it was an e-mail or whatever unless they ask--even then I don't give e-mails out. The majority of my successes so far in 2011 are from emails but I don't want to get them spammed so I don't post them.

I understand how people want to share their successes and encourage others to try them, but saying "This person responds via e-mail" is going to cause problems. A true fan will write the person whether or not there is feedback on the site.

Well, I haven't really been on this website for a while, but over the last month, I have noticed the amount of Email successes going through the roof but I am not sure if this is a good thing, it is on one hand because it's nice to see the hobby moving forward, however if many (I believe probably the majority of people) are using this resource as a way of getting free autographs and this should not be allowed. But on the other hand it is a nice way of one on one contact with a celeb!

In my opinion, I have never used an email address, accept for SFM years ago and I don't intend on starting. Simply because I love this hobby the way it is, the sitting down with a pen and a piece of paper and writing to a celebrity, whom you truly care/admire and telling them why, asking them questions and thanking them as you kindly ask them to sign and return the item in the SASE provided!

And that's it.... :D
in my eyes!

Thanks
-Rebecca :D
