Evidently Julie Andrews is no longer authenticly signing through the mail. Bummer, but I am pleased the director of her fanmail took the time to explain what happened and still send a photo. She didn't have to do that, so at least there was some sort of explanation behind why I didn't receive a reply. She did include a note that said if I wanted the picture I sent back to send a SASE, but I can't decide if I want to waste the postage since it won't be signed. Thoughts?

Can you type out what she said? apparently she wrote something on the back also?

I often wonder why they take the time to send you 'another' photo but don't enclosed the photo you originally mailed to them, especially if neither are signed.
I think it might be time for them to look into preprints rather than blank photos. I'd much rather receive a preprint than a secretarial signature like some entertainers utilize.

I don't have the card with me to type out what she said verbatim, but she basically said that if I needed the large photo back to send a craft envelope with $1.10 postage, we call it a SASE I will return the photo I originally sent to her, she only sends out preprints or photos that she owns and is allowed to sign and because mine was copyrighted she can't sign it and that eventually when she has copyright permission she'll sign a master copy and then begin sending out preprints.

The secretary needs to be more honest and just say that Julie Andrews can no longer be bothered signing autograph. The story about her not having permission to sign photos is garbage. She wouldn't get into trouble by signing a photo that she doesn't own the copyright. The person who would get into trouble is the person who produced the photo.

It's illegal? Hahah Julie isa b*tch and doesn't want to sign anything. If it's illegal for her to sign then that mean a lot of other celebrities are doing illegal things (signing autographs)? Seriously?!

It was in a different envelope, but Julie was one of my first attempts and I didn't send a SASE.
