Stan Musial success (second try)

Post by roederb »

Sent 1948 Bowman rookie card, padded SASE, letter, and removed dollars cash to Stan Musial at:

1650 Des Peres Rd.
Suite 125
St. Louis, MO 63131

Originally sent on June 27th, 2011. Received back in padded SASE on July 2nd, 2011, with cash, card unsigned, and no explanation or anything else. Resent that same day with removed dollars cash, which is his stated fee on http://www.stan-the-man.com/ , and received card back signed in blue sharpie on July 9th, 2011. Nothing else came back besides the card. Signature is a lot less shaky than ones I have seen recently on balls. Flats are easier to sign. Very happy with this success.

I know he's the man, but 100 bucks is ridiculous to ask for your autographs.

Would you have a scan of the envelope and picture you received please?
If so, you are in the run for the $10 gift certificate.

Well...its a lot but you have to consider the caliber of player that Musial is...and I'm not so sure its him really requiring it, but his assistant/manager/family or whoever is handling his mail...may be his son, I can't remember. Musial is probably one of the top 5 greatest players to ever live...who is still living. Its the same with Yogi Berra...his normal fee is $100...you may be able to get it free or for cheaper, but that's his fee. I was able to get Musial free this year on an index card...happy with that.

I've only seen him sign 2 blank index cards ever...one of them being mine. I wrote him several times and was declined anything...even once with money. The last time I just sent him a letter and SASE requesting one of his normal signed post cards like the guy above got and instead got a blank post card...which I like better.
