Nobody on this forum ever seems to know anything about Presidential autographs.

A seated President never has and never will send someone an autograph. For security reasons they won't sign anything unless it has to do with their Presidential duties. Items signed by Presidents after they left office are likely real. But never anything signed by a seated President. Like the baseball someone claimed that Obama signed this is a secretarial signature.

Well actually even in person I have seen the secret service gather items from the front rows and he has signed them. They look real too. Doubt hes traveling with a secretary that is there just to sign autographs. George W. Bush used to carry a black sharpie and would sign for the first row as he was shaking hands leaving an event.

Yeah those pictures really don't actually prove anything. A bunch of fellow politicians standing around and the President has a pen in their hand.

1st the one photo is the State of The Union address the other photo is not, it was taken during President Bush's reelection campaign, and it was the Presidents sharpie. I also have a photo I took myself of George H.W. Bush at a parade in Rockford. He was President at the time and both him and Mrs Bush signed the photo. The below photo is Bush signing for me As President!

^ I believe you and I believe this success is authentic. And I believe it is because it is election year, and the letter must have been a strong one. Why would the oval office FAKE a response from Obama? That's just asking for trouble. They'd make a sec take care of it.

I don't why people are doubting this success so much, most world leaders read and reply to a very, very small proportion of their mail, especially concerning feedback from voters, hot issues of the day etc.

In the UK, our Prime Minister replies personally to a few letters, and has even been known to telephone people who have written to him.

From the picture (of course OP has the items and can tell better) I would say the letter is probably a copied signature, but that the postcard is genuine.

This is not after all a reply filling an autograph request, it is a reply to a letter OP has sent which the President has signed (the postcard)- as you do at the end of a letter, even the Commander-In-Cheif!

It actually could be him. Since the photos were taken some years apart he would have whiter hair. I know that The A list Secret Service team guard the President and the First Family......While the othera are on details with the former Presidents Vice President etc....
So Since he was on the A team during Reagan it is possible because Bush was President in this photo. I guess if we knew a name there would be a way to find out when he retired.
