Last year in July I sent Dolly a fan letter with my standard size US concert ticket (2x5 1/2 inches) and it came back nearly a month later with a note that said "item too small :-)" along with a pre-print Dolly autograph photo. Obviously, junk compared to whatever everyone has been getting.
I guess judging by the answer, Dolly has a big ego and needs to make a very big signature? I never had issues with kickback complaints about those ticket items I send based on size alone.
Nearly a year later, I sent another item, a (3 1/4 x 4 1/2 inches) item - this time a used UK ticket, mounted on BLACK CARDSTOCK 8x 10 inches, made a nice little note with lettering attached to it, and kindly wrote a letter to management, NOT direct to Dolly, that I really want this SINGLE item ticket more than anything else. I also attached a copy of my fan letter (I always keep copies) and the old response note they made to me.
Ticket was signed. This was all I sent.
In short if you get a rejection notice, try sending a different item and probably make sure they know for the sake of legitimacy of a re-request so you can get something personalized and signed. Also make sure it is in the ballpark of what I sent in size - but it seems many here get the successes at 8x10. I don't know if I was a special case. I heard trading cards are rejected by her office too?
