I wasn't really sure where to post this, but I figured someone here might be able to help.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any production/event that George Hearn might be participating in? He is my favourite Sweeney Todd and I recently saw the concert he and Patti LuPone did about 8 years ago, and it was amazing. The address on here doesn't seem to work but he has signed vv in the past.

Any information would be greatly appreciated as I seem to have hit a brick wall.

Hi Johnny's Fan:

Mr Hearn, while he hasnt been in anything in about a year I believe, does still perform / direct / choreograph.

His latest show: "The Visit" was expected to transfer to Broadway / New York, but thanks to the economy, the producers back off plans for it.

I will keep you posted if I see he is anything upcoming!

Thanks a lot. :D I'm a bit disappointed that the address doesn't work and annoyed at myself that I missed the chance with The Visit address.

I'm listening to Le Cage Aux Folles at the moment now, and he is just awesome so it's probably not good to be itching to write to him when I can't. :)

I love him + Judy Kuhn in SUNSET BLVD. (And Glenn Close .. and Alan Campbell :)). You should give that one a listen - it's a GREAT story, based off the classic film. He's got a few solos in there...is he Paradym or whatever it is? I think I tried to write him a while ago too - and Kuhn has the same agency, and I never got a response!

BTW, it's official:
http://www.broadwayworld.com/article/A_ ... e_20090709

Tony Award-winner Hugh Jackson (The Boy from Oz) and Daniel Craig (James Bond Films), who will make his Broadway debut, will star in A STEADY RAIN. Previews begin September 10, at the Schoenfeld Theatre."

DON'T SEND until Sept. 8/9th ish, as even then you are very closely sending it - often times mail gets lost within the first days! But good luck to anyone who tries!

Yes, I have heard songs from Sunset Boulevard (I really like both Patti LuPone and Glenn Close) but I haven't yet heard him sing in it. I'll have to try and buy his solo's from Amazon or iTunes.

Oh, wow Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman! I am definitely going to try both of those. I guess as it takes about 4 days to get to America, I would have to send a few days earlier than the 8th/9th September.

It's a strictly limited engagement through December 6, so you'll have plenty of time to send after that. Poeple on this baord just like to whine and complain because they sent theirs August 20th because they think rehersals are at the theatre (which generally they are not) and they have to re-send. Although I wouldn't be surprised if it extends until January 3, perhaps, unless they both have contracts coming up.

His big solo is: "Greatest Star of All," amongst tons of dialogue. I'm a sucker for Judy Kuhn so I love the sappy love song "Too Much in Love To Care," and I would widely regard "As If We Never Said Goodbye" as one of the best songs of all time - and one of the best moments/scenes on stage and screen of all time. Here's a link to it, from the Tony Awards:

Gotta love the "Let's Have Lunch" tune .. that's the first notes you hear when the "walls" go up!

Actually, Elaine Paige is my favourite Norma. (I Love Patti & Glenn as well - but Elaine has Glenn's acting skills, and Patti's ... uhhh singing.)

Wonderful!

Lol, I would never even think about sending during rehearsals. I'm a tentative vv requester anyway, so I would only send when I knew other people were. :)

Ooh, I shall definitely be buying that one then. I just {??} George Hearn. He's got such a great voice, which can be powerful and agressive but also really gentle and sweet. I love the emotion he manages to put into the songs. I think I'm turning into fangirl here. Another to add to my very long list. {love}

I have to agree. As If We Never Said Goodbye has been one of my favourite songs ever since I heard Glenn Close sing it a few years ago. It perfectly captures how Norma must feel returning after so long, and it is so well written, it brings alive her hopes and fears and the magic of the movie business. Even if you don't like her character (as I'm sure some people don't), you can't help wanting it to all come true for her. And the music itself is just... ah, brilliant.

I think I've depressed myself now. Sometimes listening to songs on a computer is not enough. I think I need to move to New York or something. ;-)

Thanks for the links. I actually don't think I have ever heard Elaine sing it before and it's been a while since I've watched Glenn Close. Youtube is so great for people like me so at least I can actually see the performance instead of just listening.

EDIT: Wow, what a performance. So much feeling and emotion, and then to have her great voice as well. I wish I could find a good clip of Patti from the time she was Norma, as I've only heard her singing in her later years. But from what I have heard they all would have been worth watching just for their voices alone. I do love how Glenn Close says "hello" though, it just makes me smile for some reason. :D

Rumor has it a very prominent producer (I forget his name) intends to bring Ms LuPone over to revive the musical GYPSY, which I got to see her in twice. Wait til you see her in that / YouTube that one. Incredibly .. perfect, errie almost. When I saw it the first time I have to admit I wasn't necessarily familiar with the show besides a song or two, but when I saw it the second time - goosebumps. She was scary ..and scary good! Hopefully it'll transfer!

I just don't like how Patti lets her diva-status get in the way -- Elaine seems snarky, but very kind. Ms Close is .. fine Haha.
