I think Diego was going through a HUGE transitional point in his life (no, I don't know him personally) but judging by what he's been saying on Twitter, he has made a management team switch, changing weight classes, and getting back into Jackson's. I think the delay may have come when he changed management. Again, just a speculation, so don't rip my head off lol.

Flat out, Diego admits he's terrible at returning his fanmail.
He admitted so on twitter when someone asked to mail him at Jackson's.
He confirmed to mail it to Jackson's but said, "I'm not too good at returning it though."

Another collector pal of mine in San Jose got his back recently too; like guru after 3 yrs.
He sent a glove & Topps card (to a venue I think), but got this 8x10 & a signed..... DOLLAR BILL in return! No joke! hahaha
(no, he didn't get the glove & Topps card back)

If people send to his new management team (Insight Catch), it goes directly to him. I got my glove back within a week or so.
