I think it can be justified in some cases, especially when the celeb is no longer active. Then a) the volume of fan mail can be expected to be quite low, and b) there may not be other options such as studio. I have a good example - there is a singer/songwriter who had a multiplatinum album in 1990, ...

Met Slayer last year. Tom Araya left shortly after the show and didn´t sign, but Kerry King was very cool, spent some time talking and taking pictures with fans. Came out almost 2 hours after the show. Holt signed too, and I somehow missed Bostaph or he stayed really late at the venue.

The way I see it is..if you have to send a SASE to a celebrity,and they are that cheap...they aren't even worth writing to,but thats my opinion. i think the least people can do is send a SASE. With the amount of request they get. Don't forget that you're asking for a favor from them. including a SA...

If you can find out where she may be staying, hanging out at the hotel the morning after the show is a good bet. Usually easier to meet artists at hotels than at venues unless you have backstage access.

I know only one guy who has Prince´s autograph. He is a serious IP collector and got Prince after many tries. I think it was around 20 years ago and he wrote "Love God Prince" all over a CD cover.
