I never fold SASEs in half because that just encourages stuff to get damaged on return.
What I do for an 8x10 photo is put that in a sleeve with a piece of stiff cardboard in a 9x12 envelope, which is the SASE. That in turn gets put into a 11x14 envelope mailed to the person.

Re: Confused By USPS - can someone help please
If my assumption is that it's being sent from the US to you is correct, it's this: A piece of cardboard to keep it from bending *may* cause it to be sent not as a letter but as a package, which is a higher cost than sending a letter. Depends on the thickness of the cardboard. Some clerks *may* ignor...

Re: How many of you would fake your name for Two Autographs??
I still don't understand the purpose. Sure you'd get two autographs, but other than cutting the photo apart, it would be on the same item. And again, the personalization wouldn't have the signers last name. Just doesn't make any sense why you would do that. To most everybody else, it would come acro...

Re: SASE From Switzerland
SASE from a foreign country _always_ take the postage from that country. Do not listen to people who say US Global Forevers can be used. They may slip through on occasion, but US Global Forevers are _to_ a foreign country, not from.

Re: Where do I find the value of autographs?
If you're going to compare prices on eBay, look for the _ending_, not the asking price. A $500 asking price does no good if the piece doesn't get any bids.
Out of curiosity, since I know space autographs, can you post a pic of the John Glenn?

Re: Whats your autograph collection
Save your money. Seriously they are just like you an me. These guys sleep, eat, and # like the rest of us. So what if they made a few moments on on screen. If the autographs were free that would be one thing, but when I hear that some of the actors are asking 30-100 for their autograph that is abso...

Re: Nichelle Nichols
That is her website, although she (or most likely, her webmaster) hasn't responded to inquiries about sending her stuff to get signed. I've heard Nichelle is not doing well (though still doing con appearances), so that may be the only way to get a TTM.

Re: What to do when you are only half successful
Nothing, as you're likely to get the same reply, particularly if you sent the person something and you got the PP and your item back unsigned. As it's PP, does that mean preprinted, as it's part of the photo, or pre-printed, as it was signed authentically beforehand en masse and sent out in response...

Re: EBAY
Get to know and trust the provenance and autograph rather than a COA. Companies can and do make mistakes. To dismiss eBay because there's no authentication from an "initial" company means you could be missing out on stuff.
