Brett is terrific with fanmail. I would recommend sending him something to sign-the size doesn't matter as long as it will fit in the sase you use.

I dont exactly know about the etiquette but did that once to a star. I told her of my internal struggle saying something like, "I'm not sure about this part but I would love...enclosed is a...but no matter what you have my support. Get well soon." That let's them chose, but let's them know...

Politicians usually send autopens but sometimes books can get authentic. I would recommend contacting his office and ask. There might be someone to send in care of.

I agree:cardboard would be a waste for the small photos. The larger ones I do send cardboard. I would advise realizing that some will get damaged anyway, this just helps.

It all depends how much it weighs.

I can send my 8x10 with a thin cardboard and it will be 2.50 usd in stamps-that's for 2ounces.

It also depends what venue you are trying: Canada has been great for me personally, but some of the long time tv shows filmed there don't reply.
