Re: Dick Van Dyke Success! Feedback Appreciated

Which did you send to him or did you send him both? Regardless, the difference in the first letter is enough to suspect there's two different people signing these.

Re: Bob Horner Disappointed to say least...

A photo is $20. Looks like you got the better part of the deal with him signing a photo and not the card. If you wanted him to sign the card, and sent only $5, then why did you send the photo?

Re: Which envelopes to use

My SASEs are 9x12 envelopes with a piece of cardboard as stiffener for an 8x10 photo and sleeve. I send them to the person in a 10x13 envelope.

At Star City and in Russia, cosmonauts don't use autopens or secretaries. The only autopens you'll find from cosmonauts are from the NASA-JSC office.

I can send a flat rate Priority Mail box that has nothing inside and weighs less than an 8x10 envelope with a piece of ...

Re: SASE From Switzerland

You need British stamps on a letter from the UK to the US, Swiss stamps from Switzerland to the US.

Re: Postage question

I never fold SASEs in half because that just encourages stuff to get damaged on return.

What I do for an 8x10 photo is put that in a sleeve with a piece of stiff cardboard in a 9x12 envelope, which is the SASE. That in turn gets put into a 11x14 envelope mailed to the person.

Re: Confused By USPS - can someone help please

If my assumption is that it's being sent from the US to you is correct, it's this: A piece of cardboard to keep it from bending *may* cause it to be sent not as a letter but as a package, which is a higher cost than sending a letter. Depends on the thickness of the cardboard. Some clerks *may* ignor...
