Re: WHICH SEAL TO USE FOR THE USA?

So long as the stamps add up to the amount of postage needed from the US to Brazil, you're fine. Currently, domestic Forevers are worth 55 cents and global Forevers are $1.15. So you could use two domestic Forevers plus a five-cent stamp to make the rate of one global Forever, for example.

Re: Jared Leto autograph - Advice

In general, expecting a response by the end of April/beginning of May - that's two months from now - is too short a time to expect a response. Some may reply quickly, some may respond longer - and some not at all.

Re: DOUBT ANNE HATHAWAY

You don't need a SASE. However, SFM sends out printed, nonauthentic signatures on cards.

Re: How to send fanmail to Hong Kong?

"2) don’t worry about postage if you’re sending it to HK since to whomever you’re sending it to, may be kind enough to pay for postage." That's the key phrase - "may be kind." Or they may throw it in the garbage. Always, always provide some means of getting what you want back to you, whether it's st...

Re: Photographs - pro's and cons?

All photos except ones specifically marked as public domain belong to the person who took the photo. Chances are, you won't get stopped. But legally, places can refuse to print the photos unless you have a release from the photographer or can prove they're public domain. Just because it's on the int...

Re: How can I save on postage? (using stamps)

I've found that a "regular" envelope, containing a photo and protected by cardboard, is costing me about $3.50, also with cardboard as stiffeners. Additionally, I mark it "do not bend," so it goes out as a first-class package. The stiffness is what the clerk determines as a packa...

Re: Sending a SASE to US from Canada

If you're expecting a reply from Canada, you need Canadian stamps.

Heading off people, you can not use US Global forever stamps. Those are good as airmail stamps from the US to another country, not the other way around.

Re: Is sending a photo required?

Not a requirement, but highly recommended unless you know they send out photos (NASA astronauts.) You're asking them for a favor, and sending a photo makes it easier for them to respond - they can sign whatever you've enclosed, and then slip it into you SASE. As well, sending them a photo makes it e...

Re: Dick Van Dyke: Success ??? - Serious feedback appreciate

FWIW, I sent him (knowing full well it could be secretarial) a lobby card or a photo from Mary Poppins. I didn't get it back, but got back three signed 11x14s, including this: https://www.flickr.com/photos/45855752@N00/39999710050. If it's a secretarial, it's OK - it's for a friend's kid and I got back three photos when I sent one.
