I bring a couple of comic back boards, but bristol is nicer. Lots of people bring sketch books or art paper. If you are paying for a sketch the artist will usually have paper ready, but you can always ask for the sketch in your book, pad, or own paper you brought.
So I guess it is whatever you like.

Re: Comic Book Collectors
We just got back from a little convention. I got a few Crow comics signed by James O'Barr and a couple of pictures signed by Jaimie Marchi - Anime voice actress best known for the role in Witchblade. I don't watch anime, but she is a very pretty lady and was signing for free, so what the heck. The c...

Re: Comic Book Collectors
I get that there is only one per box and they can be hard to find, but what I can't figure out is how a comic book based sketch card (nice ones, I admit) by an unknown artist can be worth more than an entire page of art by an accomplished and known artist. Ok, I also get that that same artists will ...

Re: Comic Book Collectors
Ok, so I don't get why these chase sketch cards they put into boxes of trading cards can get such insane prices on eBay. For example; I was interested in an Electro one from the Spider-Man archives series. Full color head sketch - pretty cool- and done by some artist I never heard of and has never h...

Re: Comic Book Collectors
My geek pride day was spent playing/being Nightwing and all the bad guys with our youngest son (who was Batman of course), watching the movie "The Lost Skeleton Returns Again", and after dinner watched Astonishing X-Men: Gifted with the boys. After they go to bed I will sit up and read old...

Re: Comic Book Collectors
Since we are on the topic of commisions and sketches; has anyone heard of this scum bag - Rob Granito? For years Rob has pimped himself as a comic artist who has worked with some of the biggest names in comics. He claims he worked on titles like Teen Titans, Batman, did a DC stamp for the USPS, and ...

Re: Comic Book Collectors
Nice Dr. Doom Cap! May I ask what that set you back?
The Zatanna sketch is beautiful. I really like the way the face is done. Her giants jugs are nice too, but the face is amazing.
