Re: Sending money for autographs? ***?

Yeah, I'm fairly sure all of my TTM autos are authentic, except for my Doris Day. I only write to people who I'm sure are signing, and usually I use home addresses. I don't write for AP or PP. Esther Williams just sent me a pre-print, but I expected that might happen. And so far, my success rate wit...

Re: Does anyone get a writer's block when writing letters?

What else would we write for, especially considering this is an Autograph Collecting Discussion message board? The goal is to win an autograph through the mail, I always thought.

Re: Sending money for autographs? ***?

It's always the lesser actors that want to be paid. I wanted all of my LEAVE IT TO BEAVER dvds signed, for example. Barbara Billingsley, Tony Dow and Jerry Mathers will all sign for free, if you write a nice letter. I'm guessing Lumpy and Eddie Haskill are going to require a small payment though.

Sending money for autographs? WTF?

Oh, I have and I do. But I resent it when it's requested. I realize that some people are busy, don't regularly sign, and are particularly difficult to get signatures from. In that case, I'll write a beautiful letter and enclose a twenty or something. But people that demand to be paid? They get a sti...

Re: Does anyone get a writer's block when writing letters?

I just ramble psychotically. Especially when I'm not all that familiar with the person's work. And it never matters, I have a 100% success rate right now.

Re: My Chemical Romance - any successes ?

We met those guys in San Diego last year, got photographs with them, etc. I'd never heard their music, but they were very nice.

All 3 of those people were in The Invaders. Some more than others. ;)

I plan to send a lot more, but I'm waiting on US stamps.
Hey! What venue for Liam Neeson? He's great! I'd love to write him!

When was the last time someone tried Joanne Woodward?

I just sent to her. I've read accounts from 2006 that people are saying she won't sign, but that was almost 4 years ago. And I haven't heard anything since. Has anyone tried since, or do people in the autograph community just all kind of give up together?
